CO2 laser resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that uses a carbon dioxide laser to remove the outer layers of damaged skin. It is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, and uneven skin tone. The laser beams vaporize the outer layers of the skin, and the body's natural healing process then stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin, which improves the overall texture, tone, and elasticity of the skin. The procedure is usually done under local anesthesia and requires some downtime for recovery.
Secure BookingSurgery isn’t always the answer. There are a variety of powerful non-invasive techniques that improve the quality of your skin. CO2 Laser treatments effectively reset the clock for your skin. Those who are only showing early signs of aging can benefit from laser technology as well; subtle indications of aging can be addressed early and make a big difference. Co2 Laser sessions are appropriate for those who do not want to undergo a facelift or neck lift and have difficulty with the following conditions:
• Acne scars
• Crepey skin
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Large pores
• Stretch marks
• Sun damage
• Dull, flat skin
How does it work?
CO2 Laser resurfacing may sound intimidating, but it just means making the skin smoother and tighter and reducing the appearance of scarring, fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores. CO2 Laser treatments stimulate the skin to heal itself by removing the damaged surface layer and promoting collagen production. The new collagen tightens the deeper layer of the skin, called the dermis. When the skin heals itself, the texture and smoothness the skin originally had is restoredencouraging supple and youthful-looking skin.
CO2 Laser helps promote healthy skin and provides improvements for many common skin concerns, such as: uneven skin tone, texture and overall complexion quality.
When will I see the results from CO2 Laser?
After just one CO2 Laser session you will begin to see the results. For many of the treatments, the best results will become visible around 3-4 months following the treatment. To get the best results, the treatment series range from 1-4 sessions, depending on your specific skin conditions. To maintain these results, it’s generally recommended that you should undergo maintenance treatments every 12-18 months after completing your initial series of treatments.
Recovery
Laser treatments require 5-7 days of healing time, though the patient can go right back to desk work after the procedure.
For the first 24 hours, a special ointment will be applied to the face to ease discomfort and protect the skin. Then a post-laser cream is used on the face for the next 5-7 days, or until the skin heals. Some patients experience little to moderate redness and slight oozing. This usually takes 1-2 days to subside. Some patients report that the skin feels like it is sunburnt. After a few days, the damaged skin will slough off, leaving room for rejuvenated skin.
